Brian Donnelly, also known as KAWS is a well-known street artist, apparel producer, and graphic designer based in New York. The iconic feature of his works is the "XX". He started using it at the beginning of his career as a street artist back in the 1990s. His work blends elements of illustration, pop culture, and contemporary art. He is a world-renowned artist who exhibits in museums and galleries internationally.
KAWS released a new version of his classic companion character, titled “Small Lie”. The figure features the companion slumped over in what appears to be a disappointing stance, with a long nose that’s reminiscent of Pinocchio. Unique from the Open Edition Companions, this figure included overalls on the character and did not come in flayed versions. The small lie companion originally debuted as a 30-foot tall statue made of African hardwood at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in the United Kingdom and is now available in a size that you can actually fit in your apartment.
