Okuda San Miguel
“Quarantine Dreams” was created by Okuda San Miguel during the period of confinement. In the piece, the artist explores both the delicate situation we are facing and the explosion of creativity we are seeing at the same time.
The composition has a series of main figures, with stout women whose brick-textured skin symbolizes buildings. They are complemented by a range of characters from popular culture, including Donald Trump, Mickey Mouse, Snoopy and Bender, creating a surreal mix of anatomy and architecture.
Some of the references come from ideas suggested by Okuda’s followers on his live Instagram feeds. These are complemented by personal icons, some of which go back to the artist’s childhood.
Part of the proceeds of the sale of the prints will go to the #colouringtheworld initiative.
